Bmw 328i
A really well looked after BMW that was truely cherised by its owner.
Washing & Claying
Upon washing and preparing the car for polishing I noted that the car was not beading water at all. I spoke to the owner as his regular routine was washing and polishing every few weeks. But no wax was ever applied which was soon about to change!
After a short claying session (due to the regular hand polishing) I began to work on a hard cutting compound and pad to remove the built up swirls on the paint work.
Polishing
The paint required 3 or four passes with different compounds and pads to remove the majority of surface swirls. It took some time to really get it looking as I wanted it.After this process was completed on each panel I went about applying a couple of separate layers of synthetic paint sealant.
During the curing I spent time on the leather interior and gave the beautiful wheels a polish, protective layer of wax and finished applying a couple of coats of treatment to the tyres.
Waxing and last stages
Now it was time to wax the freshly machine polished, prepared and sealed paint. Two layers where individually applied and removed after curing. This will help maintain the finish during use and ensure the future washing becomes much easier.
A few finishing touches were applied – including my favourite glass sealant (Rain repellent)
and a pleasant smelling and effective leather conditioner.
Here are a great couple of shots of how the paint looked before and after swirl removal.
