Preparation for detailing
Wheel Preparation
By the application & treatment with specialist products, wheels are stripped of built-up road film & brake dust in preparation for the application of protective waxes.
If requested by the customer wheels are carefully removed and the insides cleaned to an as new condition.
Prewash
Depending on the customer's chosen level of service, this stage can be broken into two distinct types of cleaning process.
A general prewash consists of using a mild car shampoo - which isnt harmful to any previously applied wax coatings but still has a gentle cleansing nature which removes high levels of accumulate dirt and road film.
Alternatively, a much more concentrated solution is used which removes much more dirt, as well as any existing layers of wax, ensuring a finer finish is available before the next stage begins. This method is used if the cars paintwork will require claying and machine polishing.
Washing
This approach is to ensure there is minimal opportunity for debris to be introduced whilst the physical washing of the vehicle is being carried out.
Drying
Fresh clean pre-heated towels are used to ensure all rinsie water is removed from the vehicle.
Hand Polishing
Dependent on the type / series of treatments the client has requested, following towel drying - intensive hand polishing may be carried out.
